Sometimes, Less is More

A lantern to light your way.

As Sunday quietly slipped into Monday, I found myself looking back in order to look forward — toward the next phase of Evergreen Yuletide. Sharing my first six blog posts has been a gentle way to welcome you into the heart of this community. Each message carried a little hope, a little beauty, and a sense of togetherness.

If you haven’t guessed by now, the valley unfolding one puzzle piece at a time is a mirror of Evergreen Yuletide itself. Sometimes we need that mythical place — a place the hard edges of the world cannot touch. A world where nothing is perfect, yet love always prevails, making even the imperfect moments feel somehow right.

My dream for this community continues to grow and evolve. But I am only one person, and balancing a full weekly blog with artwork, technical work, social media, the newsletter, and caring for my father means I need to adjust my rhythm.

For the next month or two, I’ll be shifting to a gentler pace. Each month will include one full blog post, and on the other weeks I’ll share short reflections like this one, along with the weekly puzzle piece reveal. This rhythm gives me the space to care for my father and also tend to the creative work that helps support Evergreen Yuletide.

Just as the valley unfolds piece by piece, so does life. This week’s puzzle piece offers a small glimpse of our next friend. As I mentioned last week, she’s a lovely addition to the valley. I find this piece symbolic — a reminder that sometimes we must divide our time and energy in new ways to make everything work. Her other half will appear in the final reveal, marking the completion of another four‑week cycle.

Next week, we’ll take a deeper look at the changing season as summer approaches, even if the weather still insists on pretending it’s early winter. And with July 4th on the horizon, we have a joyful celebration ahead. I’ll be sharing a few simple ways to make that day both memorable and meaningful.
