Sometimes the clearest truths are the ones we learned long before we knew their names. This week, I returned to the simple, steady way a child sees the world —with wonder, with openness, and with a heart that knows how to laugh first. In that softer light, even the smallest moments become invitations to joy.

Being the guardian of Evergreen Yuletide and its creative studio comes with a sense of responsibility. That word, responsibility, can seem overwhelming at times, but it can also be broken into two simple words — response and ability.
Simply put, we choose how to respond in every situation. The choice we make sets an action in motion. We become the guardian of that choice as well as the outcome.
So, what is all this talk about responsibility and guardianship?
It is simply a call to adjust our vision — to gently turn what feels like a burden, shift it just a little, and discover how it can multiply joy.
This is a guilt‑free zone with a little advice to sweeten your day… and there is a direct connection with today’s puzzle piece, so stay close.
Children are often our best teachers.
Pause for a moment and watch how their wonder and excitement in such simple moments move them beyond temporary problems or squabbles.
Let them be little — filled with carefree motion, awe, surprise, and joy.
Follow their example.
You may be surprised when your ability to react to any situation is suddenly accompanied by a smile or a bit of laughter.
Someone is ready to meet you.

You can only see a small piece of him, but he is very important. In a very magical way, he has become the caretaker — the guardian — of this valley.
He is waiting for everyone — the young, and the young at heart.
He is the steady pulse of the valley, and wishes very much to welcome you into his home… to be a part of your life.
There is so much more to come. Each week you will continue to receive another puzzle piece. Every fourth piece will reveal another member of this “family.”
