where a quiet path begins to share its secrets
Songs frequently speak to my heart. A melody can stop me in my tracks, urging me to pause, listen, and reflect. That’s expected when the music is coming from a radio, a phone, or even a beloved vinyl record.
But sometimes the melody has no source at all. It simply arrives — floating into my mind, humming through my thoughts, carrying a message I need in that moment: stop… listen… experience… reflect… learn.
Why am I talking about a melody that plays in my head and speaks to my heart?
Because today, as I pondered Puzzle Piece Number Two, Morning Has Broken began to play quietly in my mind.
If you’re not familiar with it, the song could be the anthem of spring. After a long, snowy winter, the first signs of spring feel like a gift. Plant life awakening is one of those gifts.
Flowers speak a visual language all their own. Their fortitude reminds us to push through the “hard soil” moments of life. Even in seasons when we feel buried, a simple crocus whispers, wait for the thaw… rise again.
Sometimes we watch flowers dance with the wind — swaying freely, unbothered by who might be watching. Their movement teaches us how to respond to the currents of life, how to bend without breaking, how to stay open to what surrounds us.
Their vibrant colors fill us with warmth, beauty, and wonder. Nature gives us images that no camera lens or artist’s brush can fully capture. Our memory of them is always more vivid, more alive.
Puzzle Piece Number Two is a scene filled with flowers. As the story unfolds, you’ll understand why they matter. They represent more than beauty.
They are a reflection of the seasons of life.
They arrive quietly and often suddenly — just in the nick of time, when we feel we can’t lift one more shovel of snow.
